They've got the full story how this 1969 Barracuda, 340, 4 speed but upgraded to a 440 for drag racing and painted in the early 70's came to keep it's cool paint and get out of the barn it was stored in
Yup, it's worth the 6 bucks

Another reason to buy Mopar Muscle, this story on 17 yr old who got this 383 4 speed numbers matching 55thou, 1970 Lemon Twist original mile 'Cuda!

Jan 2012 issue has the story of Adam Blankenship, and his mopar collecting dad who promised him the car that had been sitting in the collection for 10 years if he got good grades in High School. That is pretty damn cool!

Or read about it online http://www.moparmusclemagazine.com/featuredvehicles/e_body/mopp_1201_1970_383_plymouth_cuda_lemon_aided/index.html
Photos from the magazine, and the online website

59 Pontiac built with used parts and NOS, ran 10 second 1/4 miles all day

Brent McCoy used Nitrous, a 477 big block Chevy engine and took it to Hot Rod Maazine drag week. This guy knows how to have fun!

Crongrats Dan! Lucky guy, he has sponsorship from Hotchkiss, along with being the first B-body Mopar to get a suspension prototyped on his Road Runner... and lots of magazine coverage http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2010/08/dan-is-getting-magazine-coverage-like.html
and I first posted about him when I met him here in San Diego's Qualcomm stadium where he was having fun autocrossing with thte SCCA http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2010/03/never-thought-id-find-time-to-get-to.html

Dan has gotten a blog post on Hot Rod, due to his great car, hard driving, and luck with a wheel company that will be featuring his Road Runner in their booth at SEMA!
http://blogs.hotrod.com/sema-preview-track-driven-roadrunner-15295.html which has a well written run down of the features of the Road Runner, and what the new rims look like (damn nice!)
Good looking rims! Here they are on the RR, photo from that Hot Rod Blog post

letter of the month (ought to be), Automobile Magazine's newest issue

Tuesday, October 18, 2011

It's funny. I like that the writer looked up the phrases to get the stats... and that he called the magazine editor for such lazy damn writing. I knwo that a snappy title seems like a great idea, but not when it's so cliche.

Magazine journalists selling out

Friday, October 14, 2011

The Truth About Cars Edward Niedermeyer says "the pimpatorial game is becoming more subtle and cites the participation of Jean Jennings and her Automobile Magazine staff in one of Ford's sock puppet TV commercials.
(read more about that here: http://www.mediapost.com/publications/article/158739/  which is fair about telling both the pro and con of this new ad campaign and how it relates to media and car companies that try for their praise) Tried to find that video... no luck, becuase there are dozens of  "Doug the Sock Puppet, Ford" videos on you tube, and Automobile.com doesn't have any.

He also criticizes Motor Trend boss Angus MacKenzie's "Subaru-funded
adventure of personal discovery" that was featured in both his publication and Subaru's Drive Magazine. He says, about the new trend away from straight out testimonials, "to paraphrase Homer Simpson, I like my beer cold, my meat red, and my sell-outs shameless." How about entertaining or interesting?
