In a New York City post office, a WW2 monument and tribute.. and a postal delivery bike
strange that it's front tire was a smaller size than the back, but had to be in order to accomodate the big basket
Found on http://www.amusingplanet.com/2011/05/dirk-skrebers-car-crash-sculptures.html where the painting behind the WW2 monument is discussed, it's an art deco piece titled Manhattan Skyline, painted by artist Louis Lozowick at the height of the art deco movement as a Works Project Administration commission. It's 18 feet tall, and in the Farley post office on 8th Ave.

Brilliant! found on http://www.bemlegaus.com/
The review on Wired.com is that it is useless against hardcore city bike thieves... but just about everything is, to anyone with a car and tools, about nothing is theft proof... high speed rotary cutoff wheels will slice through Kryptonite and all the other stuff you think keep your bike chain and locks imperivous.

Soldier Ride is happening on March 24 2012 here in San Diego, your chance to ride with wounded soldiers as they get the message out about their recovery from Iraq / Afghanistan damage
Tuesday, November 15, 2011
Soldier Ride is a WWP initiative that provides rehabilitative cycling opportunities across the country to help wounded warriors restore their physical and emotional well-being. It’s also a wonderful opportunity for the public to participate in a cycling event that honors the men and women of our military who sacrificed so much. Soldier Ride offers the public a chance to ride alongside as our warriors promote their positive message of recovery. The event raises funds for WWP programs and initiatives that ensure this generation of wounded warriors is the most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded warriors in our nation’s history.
