The original Bébé was presented at the Paris Motor Show in 1904 and stole the show as a modern and robust creation that was cheap, small, and practical.

Tiny dimensions meant that its small engine could propel it to 25 mph. Though selling price was deliberately kept as low as possible, technologies like rack and pinion steering and a driveshaft instead of a chain were included in the vehicle. Production began in Audincourt in 1905, and the car proved to be popular. Bébé sold 400 units in the first year, or 80% of Peugeot's production. It was also exported, particularly to Britain. The Type 69 was sold until 1912

The Type BP1 Bébé was a design by Ettore Bugatti, initially for the German car firm Wanderer, then also built under license by Peugeot for the French market.

 Peugeot displayed it under their marque at the Paris Motor Show in 1912. Production began in 1913 following discontinuation of the Type 69. Wanderer built their car with Bugatti's own 4-speed transmission, but in order to keep production costs down for the French version, Peugeot fitted a 2-speed gearbox initially, which was then replaced by their own 3-speed.

2012 Peugeot Sports Cars 908 Hybrid4 Race Car
Following the launch in Paris of the Peugeot 908 in February, a diesel-hybrid version of the new car has now been unveiled at this year's Geneva Motor Show. After Gumpert Apollo Hybrid and Porsche GT3 Hybrid, Peugeot is the next one with hybrid race car in the Le Mans. Gorgeous looking and hell-fast Peugeot 908 Hybrid4 is here. After months of speculations and tests Peugeot finally confirmed that 2012 Peugeot Sports Cars 908 Hybrid4 Race Car will be used in test for this year Len Mans on 24th April 2011. The newcomer has already been set ambitious targets for the 2011 season.
The new 2012 Peugeot Sports Cars 908 Hybrid4 Race Car has been designed to comply with the latest endurance racing regulations and will play a major part in the Brand's 2011 environmental strategy. Indeed, the combination of driving excitement with environmentally-respectful performance of the very highest level is ingrained into the heart of the Peugeot brand identity. This commitment will now also be championed by the HYbrid4 technology which combines diesel and electric power, two areas in which the Brand has forged a solid reputation for excellence.

Peugeot’s regenerative breaking system will bring in boost of 80 hp and depend on lithium-ion batteries. This is similar to the first generation Zytek hybrid, utilizing a battery storage system instead of a flywheel-based unit which Porsche implemented in their race car 911 GT3 R Hybrid. Additional fuel saving will be achieved by using electric-only mode in the pit-lane, which is under ACO rules, and Peugeot 908 Hybrid4 will bank on it. Main power unit will be all-new 550-horsepower 3.7-liter V8 turbodiesel, backed up by a six-speed sequential gearbox.

The system employed by the 2012 Peugeot Sports Cars 908 Hybrid4 Race Car recovers and stores the kinetic energy generated under braking, before feeding it back into the driveline during acceleration. Using this recovered energy in this way significantly improves the efficiency of the power-train.

The system provides a short power boost of 60kW (80hp) for a few seconds when it is activated. Recovered energy (500kJ between two braking phases) is stored in lithium-ion batteries before being automatically released to power the rear wheels under acceleration (there is no "push to pass" function). It will also be possible to run in electric only mode along the pit-lane and it is this mode that will be used for the car's homologation.
Beautiful hybrid car with powerful diesel engine. Unmistakable that is Peugeot. And another win for French car industry and their eco-friendly approcach to fast cars.

Novo Peugeot 408



Em nota, a Peugeot informou que a criação do estilo do 408 específico para a América Latina e os estudos complementares relacionados ao produto e ao cliente foram realizados pela matriz da marca na França e e pelo São Paulo Tech Center, Centro de Tecnologia da empresa localizado em São Paulo.
A apresentação do novo 408 para a América Latina está confirmada para a 50ª edição do Salão de São Paulo, em outubro. Além de Brasil e Argentina, o novo 408 será comercializado em outros 25 países da América Latina a partir do ano que vem, mas a Pegueot ainda não divulgou preços.

Novo Peugeot RCZ 2011


Peugeot tem os olhos postos no mercado, Audi TT, mas não é, talvez, demasiado impetuoso sobre isso.Mostrado durante o recente Salão Automóvel de Frankfurt, o 308 RC Z concept car da Peugeot, é a interpretação de prazer de condução. Moderno, original e bem balanceada são as palavras que melhor descrevem a direção do estudo de design.


Uso de componentes em alumínio para peças como o rolo de mais de duas barras de proteção mais a tela de policarbonato de vento traseiro e carroceria de fibra de carbono peças helpto menor a massa do veículo, tornando-o mais ágil possível.


O design aerodinâmico não é só tenso, mas também fornece eficiente especificações aerodinâmicas. As duas seções curvas emergentes formam o Peugeot 308 RC Z teto dão ao veículo uma aparência original e contriute grandemente a sua eficiência aerodinâmica. O desenho da porta da bagageira auxilia o fluxo de ar sobre a parte traseira do veículo enquanto o formato da traseira do 308RC Peugeot Z fornece suficiente força para baixo sobre a suspensão traseira para eliminar a necessidade de um spoiler traseiro, preservando assim a pureza das linhas do carro .
Todas estas melhorar o desempenho e consumo de combustível do carro. O modelo de produção permite Peugeot a adotar a concepção frente elegante, para compartilhar um grande número de componentes e capitalizar o 308 hatchback de pontos fortes.
