I've been a bit quiet recently on the Kawasaki front so here is a small update. I stripped off all the components that were still attached to the frame last weekend as I had booked it in to be shot blasted and powder coated. I was advised by the guys on the Real Classic message board (
http://www.realclassic.co.uk/messages.html) that Faircharm Restorations (
http://www.faircharm.co.uk/) is the place to go for all things paint so I popped along and had a chat to the owner Shane Rybicki. The work he produces is to a very high quality so I felt that the little Kwakker would be in good hands. Here are the before and after shots.
After the frame and components were powder coated.
Foot pegs and side stand put back together.
I bought a good condition used head light surround as well as mine was heavily corroded.
My replacement grips turned up in the post.
I had the rear brake bar straightened and then I painted it matt black.
I have finished painting the bottom yoke bracket as well.
Stay tuned for more updates.
